Royal Cars wins three prestigious awards in the UK’s only national awards for the private hire, taxi and chauffeur sector
Oxford-based company takes Silver in Private Hire Operator of the Year (81+ vehicles) category and Bronze in both the Marketing and Community Award categories
A night to remember for Britain’s chauffeur and private hire industry
Oxford Based-based Royal Cars has won a hat-trick of trophies at the prestigious Professional Driver QSi Awards. Royal Cars took the Silver Award in the Private Hire Operator of the Year (81+ vehicles) category, and Bronze in both the Marketing Award and Community Award categories.
Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa said:
Royal Cars has built on last year’s success, introducing a training programme for drivers, run in conjunction with a major local retail centre. Driver health and welfare has been a major focus, with free NHS health checks being offered to staff.
And the company works with local tourist attractions, encouraging its drivers to be ambassadors for the city. The result has been a growth in the company’s fleet, and this has brought about a switch to more hybrid cars.
Mark Bursa added:
The Community Award is for Royal Cars’ work with local charities through sponsorships and fundraising events. It supports local sports teams – from Oxford United down to school teams. And most impressively, it has acquired 30 wheelchair-accessible VW Caddy taxis to provide an improved service to the handicapped, offering a 10-minute response time in the city, and the Marketing Award recognises Royal Cars’ strong use of social media, involvement in drink-drive campaigns over the Christmas period, and a fun approach to customer loyalty.
Professional Driver magazine’s QSi Awards ceremony was a night to remember for the cream of Britain’s chauffeur and private hire operators. The awards, open to every chauffeur and private hire company in the UK, are designed to recognise operators and individuals that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 10 categories at a thrilling event, held at the Effingham Park Hotel, near Gatwick Airport.
The 10 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.
Mark Bursa said:
The chauffeur and private hire industry has weathered the worst of the economy over the past few years, while making giant leaps forward in quality and professionalism. Our QSi Awards are designed to reward that excellence, and bring the industry together for a night in a celebration of all that’s good about this business.
Mark Bursa continued:
We were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries, and it was a very tough job to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are among the very best operators in Britain.
