Royal Cars wins prestigious Gold QSi Award in the UK’s only national awards for the private hire, taxi and chauffeur sector
Oxford-based company takes Gold in the Community Award category
A night to remember for Britain’s chauffeur and private hire industry
Oxford-based Royal Cars has won the Gold Award in the Community Award category of the prestigious Professional Driver QSi Awards.
Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa said:
Oxford’s Royal Cars looks after its local community in the form of support for hospitals, sports teams and local children’s charities. But this is a company with broad horizons – it funds doctors and even refuse collection in the remote Pakistani villages where the grandparents of the company’s owners were brought up. And when it found that a driver was sending most of his wages to Africa to und a school, the company chipped in, and has built a well in Sierra Leone. Royal Cars is a citizen of the global Community, and deservedly a Gold QSi winner.
Professional Driver magazine’s QSi Awards ceremony was a night to remember for the cream of Britain’s chauffeur and private hire operators. The awards, open to every chauffeur and private hire company in the UK, are designed to recognise operators and individuals that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 10 categories at a thrilling event, held at the Effingham Park Hotel, near Gatwick Airport.
The 10 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.

The private hire, taxi and chauffeur industry provides a personal, on-demand service using safe, well-maintained and comfortable cars. The Professional Driver QSi Awards are designed to recognise Quality, Service and Innovation, and to bring the industry together for a night of celebration.
Mark Bursa continued:
We were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries, and it was a very tough job to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and
Bronze winners are among the very best operators in Britain.
Professional Driver magazine is the only national publication for the UK’s chauffeur and private hire industry. It is published monthly and is available free of charge to any licensed operator in the UK. The QSi Awards were launched in 2013 as the first and only national awards for the industry.
