A majority of the villages in the Thame area date back to the Anglo-Saxon times, some of them even before then but Milton Common don’t in fact it doesn’t date back any further than the eighteenth century.
Although Milton Common is quite new in comparison it is still a historic place, it marks the intersection of the two turnpike roads that were built around that time when the economy was being expanded nationally.
There is plenty to do in and around Oxfordshire but if your based in or near Milton Common then owning a car or using a good private hire taxi service is going to be a must, that being said nothing is much more than 15 miles away so still a relatively short journey, with Barnwood Butterfly trail being the closest at just 6.2 miles you are off to a flying start (no pun intended!)
If you’re a fashion guru and like a named brand bargain then luckily Bicester Village is only 20 minutes away at just 16.1 miles if your go via the M40.
There are plenty of pubs and restaurants dotted around the area but luckily Milton Common has its own, Three Pigeons, serving brunch daily the salvage yard and antique shop doubles up as a restaurant. Have yourself a bit of bargain hunting and when your done pull yourself up a chair and enjoy your self a hearty meal.
Don’t forget Royal Cars provide private hire and taxi services to and from the village and also cover airport transfer services for Milton Common.
